The California Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA) values its scholarship program for Municipal Clerks, promoting professional development towards Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) accreditation.

Scholarships will be awarded until the annual budget is exhausted. Members pursuing accreditation can receive one scholarship per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) for any IIMC-approved course, program, or conference, prioritizing in-state (California) trainings.

Applicants must be CMCA members in good standing and complete the course to qualify. The new policy introduces a tiered scoring system with various scholarship amounts, enabling more customized and inclusive awards.

Tier 1: Silver Scholarship
Total Points: 20-25
Award Amount $100

Tier 2: Gold Scholarship
Total Points: 26-30
Award Amount $250

Tier 3: Platinum Scholarship
Total Points: 31-35
Award Amount $350

Tier 4: Diamond Scholarship
Total Points: 36+
Award Amount $500

Scholarship funds may be used for registration fees, accommodation, and legitimate travel expenses as outlined in the CMCA Scholarship Policy. While we support our membership to attend any IIMC course, training, or conference, we do encourage and prefer scholarships be used towards in-state courses, trainings and conferences.
