Ricca began her career in public service in October 2008, joining the City of Ridgecrest as a Cultural Affairs Coordinator under then Parks & Recreation Director, Jim Ponek. In 2010, when a position became available in City Hall, she became the Secretary to the Community Development Department for a few years, then on to the Executive Secretary to the City Manager and shortly after that, the Deputy City Clerk where she served for 4 years until the City Clerk position became available. Ricca joined the City of Ridgecrest as City Clerk in November 2016, bringing with her a wealth of Municipal Clerk experience and expertise. Ricca used her Deputy City Clerk position to learn all aspects of the City Clerk’s Office including operations, records management, agenda management, and elections. Committed to gaining more skills and knowledge in the field, she attended every municipal training opportunity available to her and earned the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation in 2016. Ricca currently serves as the City Clerk’s Association (CCAC) Treasurer. She previously served 3 years on the International Institute of Municipal Clerk’s (IIMC) Membership Committee, one of those as Chair of the committee; as the CCAC Central Division Trustee, and as the CCAC Regional Director for the Desert Mountain Division. Ricca credits much of her success to caring and dedicated mentors that have supported and guided her through a fulfilling career. She is an active member of CCAC and IIMC. She continues her education with CCAC and IIMC and is currently pursuing her goal of receiving her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation. Ricca provides exceptional customer service to the citizens of Ridgecrest with honesty and integrity and looks forward to a long, rewarding career as Ridgecrest City Clerk ensuring that the local democratic process is accessible to everyone. |
