Holly Charléty

Holly began her career in public service in 2008 and as a municipal clerk in 2011. Working in Sacramento, Vallejo, and El Cerrito, she has gained experience working in both large and small cities, as well as special districts. As a municipal clerk her experience includes work in the areas of regulatory compliance, Boards and Commission oversight, Agenda Management, Records Management, Elections Administration, and Administrative Services.

Holly is passionate about education and professional development. She has served the California Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA) as an academy trainer for seven years, a mentor for eight years, and as the Professional Development Director since 2022. Previously she served as the Region 15 (East Bay) Director, and served as a member of the Professional Development Committee from 2015 – 2021.

Holly is a past presenter at the League of CA Cities New Law & Elections Seminar, and the California Special District Association; and has served as a member of the Housing, Community, and Economic Development Policy Committee for Cal Cities. She received her Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation in 2014 and her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation in 2017.

She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from CA State University, Sacramento, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Dakota. She is a California native and currently lives in Roseville with her husband and son.
