Candice Alvarez is a dedicated and passionate public servant who currently serves as the City Clerk for the City of Lake Elsinore. With nearly two decades of experience in local government, Candice brings both heart and expertise to her role—balancing the technical demands of municipal administration with a genuine commitment to people and community. Candice began her public service career in the City of Pomona in 2005, where she held several positions over a 12-year span. She went on to serve as Deputy City Clerk and then Chief Deputy City Clerk for the City of San Bernardino before being appointed City Clerk for Lake Elsinore in 2019. Her journey has been marked by a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and an unwavering dedication to excellence. In recognition of her contributions to the profession, Candice was honored as the 2025 Municipal Clerk of the Year by the California Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA). She earned her Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation in 2016 and her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation in 2018. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Candice is deeply committed to the professional development of her peers. She served as a Region Director for the City Clerks Association of California from 2020 to 2022 and currently serves as the Mentor Development Director for the newly renamed California Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA). In this role, she leads with empathy and vision, helping to cultivate the next generation of municipal clerks across the state. Candice believes in the power of mentorship, the importance of service, and the value of leading with heart. She finds purpose in supporting others, building meaningful connections, and creating space for others to thrive in the municipal clerk profession. |
